Performing to an ecstatic audience at De Bees Music Bar on the 11th January 2007, Winsford quartet Barely Legal played a blinding set full of rocket fuelled songs. They fuse a mixture of their own tunes with a selection of classic songs by other bands - songs that lend weight to the notion that Barely Legal have their musical hearts in the right places. However, it is completely erroneous to suggest that Barely Legal are mere copyists. Far from it, as their own songs also shine just as vividly in my humble opinion. Fronted by the inimitable Jack Fearon on vocals and keyboards and superbly accompanied by the multi talented Sam Bell on drums, bassist Mike Newton and guitarist Pants, Barely Legal are one band who are genuinely exciting to watch. |
