| John Power is a legendary figure amongst most serious music lovers. I remember seeing him playing bass with the then unknown band The La's at the Earthbeat festival in Sefton Park, Liverpool during the 1980's. The La's were an outstanding and extra special band and this was due in part to John Power (together with the genius of Lee Mavers of course). John Power's musical sensibility and nouse meant that his subsequent group 'Cast' were one of the most succesful groups of the 90's and deservedly so. Tonight, he played to a sold out De Bees Music Bar with his brilliant new 3 piece band. Special mention must go to bassist Jay Lewis and drummer Steve Pilgrim whose playing and performance really motored the whole thing along. An absolutely fantastic night of entertainment from a brilliant band. Filmed on the 20th December 2006. |
